It’s not always easy to mean what you say through text messages. But here’s the secret. You can always get your point across with just a simple one-liner text message. Wanna know how? Here are messages to flirt-text that guy you’re into. Of course, these are applicable when you know the guy personally beyond just being acquaintances. Yes, these days everything is possible with just one click or press of a finger. Even flirting. And here are some opener lines for text-flirting.

What to text: “Hi. How are you?”
What it tells him: Send this message to him after you’ve gone on your first date, following the two day rule. This will tell him that you are interested and that you’re actually looking forward to a second date. Or send this to him, out of the blue. This will tell him that he’s on your mind. If he texts you back on both situations, don’t reply right away. Wait for about an hour. Or at least fifteen minutes, if you really can’t help it.
What to text: “Where you?”
What it tells him: Send this to him when you’re looking to hang-out with him. More often than not, he will reply with his whereabouts followed by the same question directed to you. And if you play your cards right, you might find yourself meeting up with him later on.
What to text: “What are you up to?”
What it tells him: Okay, this sounds a little kinky but it gets the message straight, right? This tells him that you are thinking of him and that you care enough to know what his doing. This can also be an alternative text for him to invite you to hang-out. Depends on what follows this message.
What to text: “Still up?”
What it tells him: Send him this message late at night and when you’re up for a long conversation with him through text. The message itself sounds sexy. If he replies, then try to get personal.

Oh, and just some reminders. Do not use text short-cuts too much. If you can, type the whole words. Don’t drunk-text him. And don’t text your friends about him while in the middle of a text-conversation with him. Simple and easy.

Don’t try to change him from his bad boy ways. I don’t believe that one has to change for the person he loves. As long as he’s loyal and faithful, then you really shouldn’t worry about his bad boy ways. If you don’t like his vices, then you can compromise. Ask him to not smoke in front of you but don’t force him to stop.

Let's Talk About Age

Thanks to the anonymous question sent to me during the previous post, I was given an inspiration for this post. This time, let’s talk about relationships involving people with big age differences. We’ll just talk about one situation - the one where the guy is older. Why that situation? Because I can relate to that. I’ve dated older guys before but I never had any experience dating really younger ones. And for me one or two years of age gap does not count, okay? We’ll talk big numbers here. At least five years difference.

Okay, I’ll stop rambling now about my personal experiences. I’ll get to the point. Here are the pros and cons of being a girl who’s dating an older guy.

Pros:
Some people say it’s ideal to date an older guy because studies show that girls mature faster than boys. So take a girl and a guy who’s two years older, then what you get is two people on the same maturity level. So that’s good, right? Another pro of dating someone older is that there is a certain level of financial security and stability with that person. Especially if he is someone who’s already working and you’re the type who thinks too much about your own future. It would be nice to date someone with a stable job. Expect to be spoiled by that kind of guy. He would take you out to fancy shmancy dinner dates, out-of-town trips, and shower you with presents. I don’t mean to sound like a gold-digger but who doesn’t want to be spoiled, right? Another plus is that you don’t have to deal with jealousy over some overrated computer game. He has other mature interests that doesn’t involve video games.

Cons:
There’s definitely going to be a lot of pressure in this kind of set-up. Well, a lot of pressure on your part. You’ll be pressure to act more maturely. You’ll be pressured to look the part as well. Also, it would be hard to relate to him. For example, you would tell him how your day went, and ramble on and on about some girl in your class. In the meantime, he would tell you about how bad his day was at work because of his temperamental boss. It’s hard when you think your problems were bad enough when they would seem petty compared to his. Of course, there is always that possibility that you might have a hard time hanging out with his friends because you have different interests from them. Lastly, and the most inevitable part is the public’s opinion. Let’s admit it, some people look down on couples in a May-December love affair. It’s hard for some people to accept these set-ups in the society and you can’t help being the object of their gossip. It’s mean but that’s the reality of it.

I’m not saying that it’s wrong to date someone who’s older. I’m just merely giving you the pros and cons of being in that situation. I, for one, would still prefer to date someone older. In the end, it’s not about the pros and cons that matter. What really matters is how you handle these. What really matters is that the good parts always overcome the bad parts. What really matters is that you love each other enough to stay together.

Hmm. That’s a tough one because when it comes to friendships and relationships, there are no black and white terms. Obviously, you can’t make your guy choose between you and his friends. That would be unfair to him.

Regarding your situation, the best thing to do here would be to talk to your guy about it. Tell him how you feel. Tell him that you feel out of place. He will appreciate your honesty. Then try to prove his friends wrong. Act more mature but not to the point of trying too hard. When I say act more mature, be ladylike but do not pretend to be someone you’re not. Be yourself but more polished. :)

Actually, it’s not that confusing. What guys really like is the natural look, also known as the “no make-up” make-up look. You see, wearing make-up is not a total turn off for guys as long as you keep it real. Wear foundation for coverage and for smooth looking skin. A little hint of brush, some clear mascara on the eyelashes, a dash of natural colored lip gloss, and you’re good to go. So you can look like you’re not wearing make-up but still look pretty and polished.

Do maintain eye contact. You know the drill, ladies, if you’ve been reading my previous entries. Try to catch his eye, and then look away. You build mystery around yourself that way.
Don’t ogle at him. You will only look like a total fool and it will definitely freak him out.
Do angle your body towards him when talking. You will seem more approachable and friendly that way.
Don’t fold your arms on your chest while talking to him. Don’t place your hands on your waist as well. This signifies aloofness.
Do laugh appreciatively at his jokes. This will stroke his ego. Guys just love it when girls laugh at the things they say.
Don’t laugh too loudly like a hyena. Manners, please? Plus, laughing too loudly will make it seem like you’re just pretending to laugh at his jokes.

Hi, ladies. Did you miss me? Sorry, if it took a while for me to post something again. I was busy with work and all that.

It’s generally easy to tell the personality of a person based on the little things such as the stuff he does, how he dresses himself, etcetera, etcetera. And as the title suggests, you can determine a guy’s personality based on where he usually hang-outs. Now, I’m not exactly stereotyping guys. This is just the general picture.

The hang-out: Computer shop, internet cafe, toy stores
The 411: It’s normal for guys to hang-out at computer shops to play LAN games, go online, and all that sort of stuff. But if you find that guy hanging out at these places more often than the so-called “normal”, you may classify him as the gamer time. And as for the toy stores, I mean those stores that sell collector’s items. These guys are the geeky and tech-savvy types.
The conversation: Chat him up about games and techie stuff. You don’t have to pretend like you know everything there is about computer games. You can just simply ask him questions. Or better yet, you can ask him to teach you how to play.
The hang-out: Music bar
The 411: When I say music bar, I mean those bars where indie bands play. Guys who usually hang-out at these places are obviously music buffs who are always on the look-out for up and coming indie bands. Anywhere with good music, count them in.
The conversation: Ask him about the band. Talk to him about music. Ask him about the kind of music that he likes and tell him about yours too. It’s as simple as that.
The hang-out: Artsy cafes, art exhibits, or book stores
The 411: These guys love art and literature, which basically come hand-in-hand almost every time. These guys are the kind of guys who would love a long conversation about almost anything under the sun. Photographers, artists, bookworms fall under this category.
The conversation: Talk to him about anything. As I’ve said, this type of guy loves a good conversation. It’s a bonus if you can talk to him about art and books. And if you can carry a conversation with him for hours, you will definitely spark his interest.
The hang-out: The gym
The 411: He’s the athletic type or the health buff. Either way, he’s basically the kind of guy who’s conscious about his body and there’s nothing wrong with that. He knows how to take care of himself and that’s a good thing.
The conversation: Sports, sports, sports! If you don’t know anything about sports, you can always start the conversation with a question. Ask him about the latest game, or his favorite sport, or his favorite team, the latest line of a sports brand, etcetera. You know the drill.

There you go. You see, talking to guys is really not that hard. You just have to play you cards right. So whenever you find yourself at any of these places with a guy, just remember the tips I gave you and you’ll have no problem having a conversation with him. Good luck! ;)

First, I like that you were honest from the start. It was a good thing that you told your guy about the situation with the other one. The only advice that I can give you is to let your f*ck buddy go to show your man that you really are sincere into liking him. Be honest, be sincere, and show him how you really feel and if he likes you back, he will accept you despite everything you did with the other guy.

I’m not here just to teach you how to flirt or how to deal with romantic relationships. I can say that I’m also kind of an expert when it comes to platonic relationships with guys. I must admit, I’m the type of girl who, despite my girly-girl personality, is also considered as “one-of-the-boys”. Come to think of it, guys make great friends because they’re really less complicated than girls. Really. For one, guys don’t hold grudges. And guys can keep secret better than girls can. Anywho, here are the do’s and don’t’s of being “one-of-the-boys”.

Do be game for anything. And when I say anything, I mean anything that falls under the “harmless but boy-ish kind of fun” category. It can be anything such as going to the arcade, watching action flicks, trying a new extreme sport, or playing laser tag. Now if it’s too extreme for you, like wall climbing and you have a fear of heights, it’s okay to say “no” as long as you don’t spoil their fun. Join in by simply cheering them on.
Don’t be squeamish. Guys love all that gore, blood, and guts. If you’re the type with a weak stomach, keep it to yourself. Don’t be a buzz-killer. It’s okay to not look when watching a gory film. You’ll be able to laugh it off later.
Do be competitive. While it may be true that guys hate losing to girls, it’s also true that winning against them at their own game will score you big points as their friend. They might trash-talk you but deep inside, they think that you’re absolutely the coolest girl ever.
Don’t bring your girly issues with you. Leave them at home. Guys love to keep both relationships and friendships simple and clutter-free. Don’t be that girl who bad-mouths everyone. It will turn them off, even as their friend. You see, when guys trash talk, they do it face-to-face. They really don’t say something bad about anyone behind his back.
Do have a hearty appetite. Guys love to eat, and they seriously feel uncomfortable around a girl with weight issues. Eat, but in moderation. I promise you, it will not gross them out.
Don’t forget that you’re still a girl. It’s okay to pig-out but continue to practice table manners, like keeping your mouth closed while chewing. It’s okay to play a game of ultimate frisbee or basketball with the guys but don’t mimic their sweaty and smelly look. You know what I mean. Because even if you’re “one-of-the-boys”, you’d still want to be treated like a girl, right?

It’s really easy being friends with the opposite sex. It’s the romantic relationships that are complicated. So there you go. Just follow these tips to maintain a healthy friendship with guys. :)

When out for dinner, will you order a bowl of veggie salad or will you go for steak and rice? Hmm. Believe it or not, guys don’t really dig stick-thin girls. Guys love seeing a girl get down and dirty with huge hamburger. With proper table manners, of course. It won’t really turn them off because guys love a girl with a healthy appetite. So stop starving yourself to death if you think being thin is the only way to attract guys. That is so wrong.

Now, it’s okay if you really want to go on a diet, do so but in a moderate way. Don’t go for extreme measures. And make sure you are not doing it for anyone else. Do it for yourself. Remember that a think waistline can never outdo confidence. As long as you are confident, you’re good to go. Love yourself for who you are and you’re sure to find someone who will love you just as much.

Turn-offs really varies from guy to guy. But there are things in general that will make him run off in the opposite direction if he sees these things in a girl. So what are those?

Poor hygiene. I’ve been saying this over and over again. Practice proper hygiene, ladies. You don’t have to be decked out in the latest fashion. You can be in the simplest clothes and still look good as long as you have proper hygiene. Bad breath, dirty fingernails, body odor. Stuff like that will scare him off. So please, girls, hygiene. Don’t ever forget that.
Bad manners. Your mother taught you manners for lots of reasons. Mainly, manners are for social grace. Being rude is never cool. Speaking with your mouth full doesn’t look good. Good manners will make you look poised and polish.
Nasty gossip. Gossiping never does anyone any good in life. Gossip just creates conflicts. Guys get turned off by girls who gossip a lot. Especially if it’s about some nasty unverified rumor. Sure, gossiping is fun but keep it minimal. And, girls, just gossip amongst yourselves. Never around guys. Because believe it or not, guys love to gossip as much as girls do. It’s just that they’re so much better at keeping it among themselves.
Being too needy and clingy. Guys love the chase. Guys love going for something that is hard-to-get. Generally, they get turned-off when a girl is being too clingy and needy. So even if you like a guy too much, don’t make him feel that you want to be together all the time. Make him chase you. But don’t overdo it, else he might give up. Just make it a little more exciting for him so he won’t get tired of you.

And there you go. These are the things that generally turn guys off. That’s all I can think of for now. Haha. Pardon me because my brain is still messed up right now. Okay?
